UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA 2016/2017 1ST BATCH
ADMISSION LIST
We
hereby make this announcement for the benefit of those that choose University
of Nigeria as their first and second choice of institution in the recently
concluded UTME/JAMB and participated in the 2016/2017 admission screening who
are anxiously waiting for the 1st (first) batch admission list. We
hope that this post will provide answers to most of your questions that are yet
unanswered. We specially put this together to help most aspirants tackle the
difficulties and challenges they face in gaining admission into University of
Nigeria. The best you can do is to take time and read this post from beginning
to the very last word. When you are through digesting this information you will
be so glad that you come across such vital information that will give you an
edge over the rest.
This
year admission is more complicated compared to the previous years and that is
why most aspirants are running here and there seeking for assistance in one way
or the other. Unlike the previous years where you are given the opportunity to
exercise your intellectual quotient in Post-UTME examination before being considered
for admission into University of Nigeria. Let me explain further; In the
previous year your Post-UTME result determines your chance of gaining admission
or not. This implies that if you score very high in your Post-UTME and your
score is up to the departmental cut off mark you have the hope of being
considered for admission. This time
around you are not even sure of being considered for admission because it is
more complicated and difficult.
The
modalities for admission this year state that all aspirants will be considered
for admission base on 0.level result grades and JAMB score. With this new
methodology in criteria for selection of qualified candidates it becomes very
difficult because almost everybody is qualified for admission. To be more explicit;
it is required of every candidate to have at least 5 credits in 0.level result,
and these 5 credits must be in the subjects of your field of study before you
can apply for JAMB. This simply means that you and every other aspirants
seeking admission into University of Nigeria are qualified for admission as you
already have at least 5 credits in each subject in your area of specialization
(Course of study) before applying for JAMB.
Secondly,
If your JAMB score is up to the cut off mark to participate in the admission
screening which implies that you are eligible for admission screening you are
qualified for admission. Same thing is applicable to all other aspirants
seeking admission into University of Nigeria this year, which means everybody
is qualified for admission and now the problem becomes the survival of the
fittest. It is now a matter of the jungle hustle and struggle where the more
experienced survive.
Let’s
assume that 90% of all the aspirants who participated in the admission
screening are eligible for admission and are expected to be admitted into the
institution. As usual the number of aspirants seeking admission into the school
is always far greater than the number of aspirants the school can admit for the
year. For every year NUC state the number of students to be admitted into the
school for adequate management and control of students to maintain global
standard of tertiary education. This number is usually between 5000 to 7000
depending on the number of staffs and lecturers of the school. Some are as low
as 3000 for every academic year. When the number of admitted students is more
than what is expected it will affect the product and quality of graduates the
school is producing to the society which affect the Nigeria economic growth,
management and stability. For every class/department there is what we call
TEACHER STUDENT RATIO which implies the ratio of students to a teacher. This
must be adhered and maintain in all tertiary institution including University
of Nigeria to maintain the standard and regulations governing Nigeria tertiary
institutions.

If you
could remember vividly, a whole lot of people also participated in the
UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA Admission Screening, as a matter of fact thousands of
aspirants wants their name in the admission list of the department you apply
for. You may be wondering why I say thousands because you conducted the
Admission Screening with hundreds of other aspirants not thousands. For your
information, as soon as the merit list is out and 90% of all the UNIVERSITY OF
NIGERIA aspirants realize that they have not been admitted they start sorting
their way out to see how their admission can work in any other department
including your department. So the struggle of gaining admission to study your
course is longer a race for hundreds, it is now a race of thousands. At this
point we are compiling the second batch admission list. For your information,
if your name is not in the 1st list and you are anxiously waiting
for the 2nd Admission list without doing anything to get assistance from
Myschooladmission, then you are doing yourself a whole lot of harm than good.
BELOW ARE SOME OF THE MISTAKES MOST OF YOU MAKE.
1. WAITING
FOR 2ND AND 3RD BATCH ADMISSION LIST: Another silly
mistake you people always make is to believe your name will be out in the 2nd
and 3rd batch admission list. It won’t happen for any reason or
whatsoever. Once the first batch which is the merit list is out, the subsequent
list is pure logistics. When I say LOGISTICS I mean RUNS as you people call it.
The standard for gaining admission does not give room for categories or levels,
it is either you score up to the cut off mark or you are out of it. So don’t
waste your time hoping that someway somehow your name will be out in the second
batch. Someone have to help you follow up your admission so that your name will
be among the names that will be published in the 2nd and 3rd list.
That is how it works as there are no two ways about it. So if you are among
those that fall into this category it is high time you erase that mentality
from your head and face reality. It is all about getting a body like
Myschooladmission to help you with your admission processing.
2. I
hate it when I give some of you orientation on what and how to go about running
your admission and you later try to prove smart along the line. What we do is
dump your case and forget about you totally. Four years ago there was this girl
who applied for Computer Science, when it was time for Post-UMTE someone
recommends Myschooladmission to her father for assistance. The man discussed
with us on phone and later came to our office. Along the line he decided to do
it his own way by giving excuses that he will rather wait until the 2nd
list is released. When the 2nd list was out he discovered that his
daughter’s name wasn’t in the admission list and yet he failed to call on us
with the hope that his daughter’s name will be out in the next list. Before the
2nd list was released we had already compiled the last list and sent
to Abuja for approval. When he started bombarding our help desk with calls and
text messages to add his daughter’s name in the 3rd list, then we
told him to source for help somewhere else as there was nothing we could do at
that point. He traveled all the way from Ibadan to our office twice later but
then it was too late. I advice him to obtain JAMB form for his daughter the
following year and he left. Ever since then the girl has been writing JAMB every
year without scoring up to JAMB cut off mark to participate in Admission
Screening before she later decided to get married this year out of frustration.
That simple negligence of instruction put an end to
her chance of gaining admission for life. This may be your one and only chance
of gaining admission, so you have to do all you can to make sure you are
admitted this year. She wasn’t the only one that year, many of them like that
were also victimize. Year after year a whole lot of aspirants make this same
mistake of waiting for the 2nd and 3rd list and at the
end of the day they have to apply for JAMB again and again. This is your time
and now is the time to follow up your admission. If you choose to wait for the
next admission list you might not be able to work it out later. If you really
must be admitted this year it is a must you start running your admission now.
3. HOPING ON YOUR UNCLE OR AUNT WHO IS A LECTURER:
We have been working admission for students for several years now and the
category of aspirants that does not always gain admission are those that either
have one Uncle or Aunt as a lecturer or staff of the school. Sometimes you
people think having a family in the school guaranty your admission. NO! It does
not happen that way, the fact that he or she is a lecturer does not guaranty
your admission because you will end up writing JAMB the following year. The
reason is because it is not every lecturer that can help you gain admission and
even those that know how to go about it still come to us to help them with
their candidates.
This is what I mean, after the screening we start
working on all our candidates to make sure they all gain admission, but your
Uncle/Aunt on the other hand will be waiting for the supplementary list when
he/she can beg to add a name out of the hundreds of names submitted to him/her
from friends and family members like you to be included in any of the available
space after all other aspirants that are connected to us have been given
admission in the previous lists. The probability of you gaining admission is
zero (0). He/she will only be given the opportunity to submit just one name out
of the hundreds of names he/she has. One will be chosen and the rest of you
will have to put in for JAMB the following year. That is why anytime some of
you call and say you have an uncle in the school running your admission for
you, all we do is ask you to either get a Pre-degree/JAMB form or a diploma
form because you will be disappointed at the end of the day.
Myschooladmission is the solution to all your heart aches and fears that
